“O le Fa’atuatuaga le suia lea a le Atua, e fa’avavau mai anamua, e fa’avavau i le lumana’i.”

One of the most important of Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings is the concept of progressive revelation.  The great religions are not separate and unrelated phenomena, but stages in the gradual unfoldment of a single divine purpose, the preparation of humankind for the tasks of the long promised age of its collective maturity.

When the Guardian of the Bahá’í Faith, Shoghi Effendi, launched the Ten Year Crusade in 1953, a young woman named Lilian Wyss responded to his call, arriving in Samoa in January of 1954.  Thirty years later, in August of 1984, the first Mashriqu’l-Adhkár (Dawning Place of the Mention of God) in the South Pacific was dedicated in Samoa.

This timeline features some important historical events of the Bahá’í Faith in Samoa beginning with the call of the Guardian and the arrival of Lilian in Samoa and ending with her return to Australia, the country of her birth, in 2010.
